Single Cartridge Filter System for Pools and Spas
Pentair Clean & Clear® Cartridge Filters are designed for reliable, low-maintenance pool filtration, delivering clear water with ease. These filters typically feature a single, easy-to-clean "coreless" cartridge, housed in a durable, chemical-resistant tank. They combine quality filter performance with simple operation, making them a popular choice for pool owners seeking convenience and effective water purification for various pool and spa sizes.
- Effective Filtration: Utilizes a high-quality polyester cartridge to trap dirt and debris, typically particles as small as 30-40 microns, ensuring clear and inviting water.
- Easy Maintenance: Features a coreless cartridge design that simplifies cleaning – just remove and rinse with a garden hose. No backwashing is required, which conserves water.
- Durable Tank: Constructed from a single piece of fiberglass-reinforced polypropylene for strength, durability, and excellent corrosion resistance.
- User-Friendly Access: Often equipped with a robust clamp ring (like the Tension Control™ clamp) for quick and easy access to the filter cartridge without the need for special tools.
- Integrated Air Relief: Includes a High Flow™ manual air relief valve and often continuous internal air relief to maintain optimal filtration efficiency by expelling trapped air.
Key features and operational notes for Pentair Clean & Clear® Filters (Standard Line):
- Single Cartridge Design: Simplifies the cleaning process compared to multi-cartridge or D.E. grid filters, making it ideal for homeowners.
- Coreless Cartridge Advantage: The absence of a central core allows for easier and more thorough cleaning of the entire cartridge surface.
- Hydraulic Efficiency: Engineered for balanced water flow, which helps optimize pump performance and can contribute to energy savings.
- Easy Installation: Typically feature unionized connections for straightforward plumbing hook-ups and servicing.
- Variety of Sizes: Available in multiple filtration area sizes (e.g., CC50, CC75, CC100, CC150, CC200) to accommodate different pool volumes and flow requirements.
- Drain Port: Equipped with a convenient drain port for easy draining of the filter tank for maintenance or winterization procedures.

⚠️ Safety & Compliance Notes
Filter Operates Under High Pressure:
- **CRITICAL:** Before performing any service (opening the filter, cleaning the cartridge, adjusting the clamp), ALWAYS turn OFF the pool pump and relieve ALL pressure from the system by opening the filter's manual air relief valve. Wait until the pressure gauge reads zero. Failure to do so can result in the filter lid separating with violent force, causing severe injury, death, or property damage.
- Never attempt to assemble, disassemble, or adjust the filter clamp or lid while the pump is running or the system is pressurized.
- Stand clear of the filter during system start-up and shut-down.
Proper Installation and Maintenance:
- Installation and significant maintenance should be performed by a qualified pool service professional in accordance with all applicable local codes and Pentair's instructions.
- Ensure the filter clamp ring is properly seated and secured according to the owner's manual before operating.
Electrical Safety (Related to Pool System):
- Always disconnect electrical power to the pool pump at the main circuit breaker before servicing the filter or any connected pool equipment. Ensure the circuit is locked out or tagged to prevent accidental startup.
