OEM Replacement Salt Chlorinator Cell for Pools up to 40,000 Gallons
If you’ve got a Hayward GLX salt system and you’re tired of lugging around bleach jugs or wrestling with old, scaled-up cells, meet your new best friend: the GLX-CELL-15-W. This is the exact OEM replacement you need to keep your pool humming along at its crystal-clear best—no plumbing hacks, no “will-this-fit?” anxiety, just drop-in simplicity.
How It Works
- Salt In → Chlorine Out: Dissolved pool salt flows over ruthenium-coated titanium plates, where low-voltage electrolysis converts it into gentle, effective hypochlorous acid on demand.
- Auto-Reversing Self-Clean: Every ~2 hrs the cell automatically flips polarity—knocking scale off the blades so you swim, not scrub.
- Clear Inspection Window: A built-in transparent panel lets you eyeball blade condition at a glance—no tank drops required.
Key features and operational notes for the Hayward® GLX-CELL-15-W Replacement Salt Cell:
- Genuine OEM Drop-In: Perfect direct-fit for GLX-series control packs (like AquaTrol, AquaRite pre-900, AquaLogic, ProLogic®)—no adapters or swaps needed.
- High-Capacity Output: Produces approximately 2.5 lb (1.13 kg) of chlorine per day, suitable for pools up to 40,000 gallons.
- Extended-Life Blades: Features ruthenium-coated titanium plates rated for up to 15,000 hours of service, offering a long operational lifespan.
- 2″ Union Connections: Standard fittings snap onto your existing compatible Hayward plumbing in seconds for easy installation.
- Integrated Safety Seals: EPDM O-rings and a UV-stabilized housing are designed to stand up to sun, heat, and harsh pool chemicals.
- Plug-and-Play Replacement: Designed to slot right into your existing GLX housing and connect to the power pack without extra parts or complicated procedures.

⚠️ Safety & Compliance Notes
Operating Limits:
- Maximum water temperature: 104 °F (40 °C).
- Maintain salt within the recommended range of 2,700–3,400 ppm to avoid corrosion or poor chlorine output.
Installation Warning: Must be installed by a qualified pool professional—improper wiring or plumbing can void your warranty and risk equipment damage.
Maintenance Caution: Always power down the pump and chlorinator control unit at the circuit breaker, and relieve all system pressure before servicing or replacing the cell.
California Proposition 65 Warning:
This product may expose you to chemicals known to cause cancer or reproductive harm. See www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
💡 Pro tip: Maintaining your salt in the sweet spot (ideally around 3200 ppm) keeps chlorine output steady and can help maximize the life of your cell blades.
