⚠️ Safety & Compliance Notes
Maximum Operating Pressure: Do not operate the filter above its maximum rated working pressure (typically 50 PSI). Ensure a functional pressure relief valve is present in the system if not integral to the filter or pump.
Installation: Install on a level surface. Follow all manufacturer guidelines and local plumbing/electrical codes during installation. Ensure all plumbing connections are secure and leak-free.
Opening Filter: ALWAYS turn off the pump and relieve ALL system pressure by opening the manual air relief valve on the filter head before attempting to remove the locking knob and filter head. Failure to do so can result in violent separation of components and cause serious injury or death.
Cartridge Cleaning & Replacement: Clean the filter cartridge when pressure rises 7-10 PSI above its clean starting pressure, or as recommended by Hayward. Replace the cartridge element when it is damaged or can no longer be effectively cleaned.
Winterization: In areas subject to freezing temperatures, drain the filter completely and store the cartridge element clean and dry as per manufacturer instructions to prevent freeze damage.
