Fiberglass Reinforced Polypropylene Material, D.E. Filter with Four-Cartridge System
Experience superior water clarity with Pentair Quad D.E.® Filters. These filters combine the fine filtration power of Diatomaceous Earth (D.E.) with the convenience of a four-cartridge system. This design traps microscopic impurities, algae, and some forms of bacteria, delivering exceptionally sparkling clear pool water. The four-cartridge configuration increases the filter's surface area, extending the time between cleanings and ensuring efficient operation.
- Exceptional Water Clarity: D.E. filtration captures particles as small as 5 microns, providing the clearest possible water.
- Four-Cartridge Design: Maximizes filter surface area for greater dirt-trapping capacity and longer cycles between cleanings.
- Convenient Maintenance: Offers multiple cleaning options, including backwashing (if valved) or easy removal and rinsing of the four D.E. cartridges.
- Durable Construction: Features a chemical-resistant, fiberglass-reinforced polypropylene tank for exceptional strength and long life.
- Efficient Flow: Designed for optimal internal flow, which can lead to energy savings by allowing the pump to operate at lower speeds.
Key features and operational notes for Pentair Quad D.E.® Filters:
- Hybrid Technology: Combines the particulate-trapping ability of D.E. with the easy-to-service nature of cartridge filters.
- Cleaning Options: Depending on your setup and preference, you can backwash and recharge with D.E. (requires a multiport or slide valve, sold separately), or remove the four internal D.E. coated cartridges for manual rinsing.
- Extended Cleaning Cycles: The large surface area provided by the four D.E. coated cartridges means longer periods before cleaning is required compared to some other filter types.
- Manual Air Relief: Equipped with a high-flow manual air relief valve to easily vent trapped air from the system, ensuring optimal performance.
- Valve Requirement: For backwashing functionality, a compatible multiport or slide valve must be purchased and installed separately.
- D.E. Application: After cleaning or backwashing, new D.E. powder must be mixed into a slurry and added to the system (typically through the skimmer) to coat the cartridges.

⚠️ Safety & Compliance Notes
Filter Operates Under High Pressure:
- Always turn off the pump and relieve all system pressure by opening the air relief valve before assembling, disassembling, or servicing the filter or any part of the circulation system. Pressurized air can cause the lid to separate, resulting in severe injury, death, or property damage.
- Never attempt to adjust clamps, lids, or remove/tighten bolts when the system is pressurized.
- Stand clear of equipment during pump start-up.
Professional Installation Recommended:
- This filter should be installed by a qualified pool service professional in accordance with all applicable local codes and ordinances. Improper installation can lead to hazards.
D.E. Handling:
- When handling Diatomaceous Earth (D.E.), wear a dust mask and eye protection to avoid inhalation and irritation. Follow D.E. manufacturer's safety guidelines. Dispose of used D.E. according to local regulations.
Electrical Safety (if applicable to system components):
- Always disconnect power at the circuit breaker before servicing any electrical pool equipment. Ensure the circuit is locked out or tagged.
California Proposition 65 Warning:
- This product and the D.E. used with it may expose you to chemicals, including crystalline silica (a component of D.E.), known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. For more information, visit www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
